Annotation:
“The Ìinister’s wife” is written by Branislav Nušić in 1931 in the middle of the Great Depression. An environment, which the Balkans in historical, cultural and geopolitical reasons seems never to leave. We are always in a crisis, there is never enough, we’re always in a disadvantage and we’re always evil. At least we are not ugly. And we are not dirty. Or so we think. We are still dreaming, and if it’s a Good’s will, we can lead the paternal company, to fix this country in no time. What other people in other circumstances had been achieved for centuries, we do it in a five-year period. Through a bunch of penny. Our heroine, the Cabinet minister’s wife, wakes up as in a dream one day with un patched pants and the irony of live spits her out in the hi-life.
