Nikolay Varbanov was born on September 1, 1979 in Veliko Tarnovo. He graduated from The National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts in 2002 with a degree in Acting in the class of professor Zdravko Mitkov. In the following years, he worked as a freelance actor and performed roles on the stages of the theatres in Lovech, Gabrovo, Targovishte, together with the Satirical Theatre in Sofia. He joined the ensemble of Sofia Theatre in 2007. Roles: Slovitch in “Fools” from Neil Simon, Proka Purich “Bereaved Family” from Branislav Nusic, Iliya in “Careerists” from Ivan Vazov, Napoleon in “Animal Farm” from George Orwell, Zamuhrishkin in “The Gamblers” from Nikolai Gogol, Serge in “Art” from Yasmina Reza, Lord Capulet in “Romeo and Juliet” from William Shakespeare, Socks in “They Shoot Horses, Don`t They?” from Horace McCoy, Barah in in “Princess Turandot” from Carlo Gozzi, and others.
