Lilia Maraviglia was born on January 18 in Varna. She graduated from The National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts in 1993 with a degree in Acting in the class of professor Krikor Azaryan. She completes a masterclass with the Russian director Valery Fokin on the topic “Meyerhold – the lessons of the master”. Afterwards, she participated in plays of the Youth theatre „Nikolay Binev”, New Dramatic Theatre “Tear and Laughter”, “Bulgarian Army” Theater, and National Satitic Theatre “Aleko Konstantinov”. She is part of the ensemble of Sofia Theatre since 1996. Roles: Madame d'Holbach in “The Libertine” from Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt, Madame de Tourvel in “Dangerous Liaisons” from Choderlos de Laclos, Lulu in “Pandora`s Box” from Frank Wedekind, Elisaveta in “At the foot of Vitosha” from Peyo Yavorov, Irina in “Three Sisters” from Anton Chekhov, Lora in “Love Boulevards” from Stefan Tzanev, Lora in “A Hotel Between the Worlds of the Living and the Dead” from Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt, Miss Tzaneva in “A Feast in a Time of Democracy” and Inteligentzia Balkanska in “The Horse of Alexander the Great” from Stefan Tzanev, Maria in “Twelfth Night”, The Widow Rose in “The Taming of the Shrew”, The Nurse in “Romeo and Juliet” from William Shakespeare, Albena in “Albena” from Yordan Yovkov, Leo in “Les Parents terribles” from Jean Cocteau, Jackie in “They Shoot Horses, Don`t They” from Horace McCoy, Adelma in “Princess Turandot” from Carlo Gozzi and others.
She has roles in Bulgarian feature and television movies. She is a jury member of the Festival of Short Film in Biarritz, France (2003). She was nominated for the "Askeer” award for the roles of Madame d'Holbach in“The Libertine” from Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt and The Nurse in “Romeo and Juliet” from William Shakespeare; nomination for the “ICARUS” award for the role of Leo in “Les Parents terribles” from Jean Cocteau. Lilia Maravilla speaks French, English, Italian and Russian languages.
